Highly fascinating and informative insight into inner workings, disfunctionality and insularity at the BBC, Gibb & Grossman donβt come out of this well. Surely nowβs the time to have a wholly independent board at the BBC, no political appointments, new Chair is necessary, Shah is out of his depth.

From the little Iβve seen of him, I can see the appeal, I hope he wins, heβs a little like Obama when he was campaigning to win his senate seat, fresh, engaging, great communicator, smart, personable and relatable.

Donβt agree, warnings were there pre Trump, weak productivity, crumbling infrastructure, hollowed out essential services, Ukraine war, Brexit etc, all known, all requiring huge investment and long term financial support, yet PM & CoEX pretended we could improve it all without significant tax hikes.

Interesting when you look at the significant role social media has played in NY Mayoral election, Mandani is huge on TikTok and Insta and it looks as if this engagement could help him win the mayoralty.

Wasnβt aware it was a βrantβ but hey ho, each to their own. My point is, all credible economists and think tanks prior to the GE stated that βwhoever won GE would have to put up taxesβ, the head of IFS labelled both Labour & Toryβs as βfinancially dishonestβ in their campaign and manifesto pledges.

Absolutely this, Iβm infuriated by Reeves & Starmerβs timidity and dishonesty, every man, woman, child & beast knew taxes would have to rise, theyβve wasted 18 months dancing on the head of a pin. They had such goodwill when they won the GE, the majority of the public would have accepted tax rises.

Danny Shaw (fmr BBC Crime Corresponden) interviewed yesterday said about 60/70 prisoners per annum accidentally released, often linked with early release scheme due to prison overcrowding.

I find him deeply annoying, he comes across as arrogant, rather entitled and nowhere near as politically astute as he thinks he is.

Any idea if his assets are or have been being investigated? At the time of the arrest last year he was driving a Bentley, had Β£13k in sterling in the car and β¬2k yet hasnβt filed tax returns with HMRC for two years, so whatβs his source of income?

Wonderful interview with Neil Kinnock, his passion for Labour to succeed still shines brightly. The Eric Heffer story was truly shocking and rather sad. Gov could do with people of his passion & oratory today.

Thereβs a very nice walk along the disused railway line you can take from Whitby up to Ravenscar or from Whitby to Sandsend and Mulgrave Woods, this walk is especially nice in the autumn.

Itβs reminiscent of the Ireland football team under Jack Charlton who when being interviewed talked of reclaiming the Tricolour from the IRA, saying itβs the βflag of the Irish people, itβs our flag not thereβsβ.

I despair at the platform MSM give Reform/Farage in respect to their number of MPs. Not once have I heard anyone on BBC/ITV/Sky recognise or explain the difference between illegal and legal migration, numbers of the latter far outweigh the former. Itβs collective hysteria.

Made something very similar today, chicken thighs (skin on) roasted in a marinade made from blending: garlic, lemon zest & juice, white wine, tin of anchovies and djon mustard, sat atop a bed of new pots, baby carrots, leeks. One pan cooking at its best.
