I didn't need to learn about such a thing, at least not months away from my next long ride... I will now try to avoid seeking them out next time I'm shopping.

17.10.2025 10:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Now I'm just thinking of My Name Is Earl!
07.10.2025 18:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My 16 year old (competant but not super into computers) recently rebooted from Windows to Linux to be able to print something.
As someone who used Linux in the 90s this is some combination of amazing and hilarious!
You did have that can of Guinness if I remember right...
08.08.2025 18:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hope it's a good mix of types 1 and 2 fun!
02.08.2025 11:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a former red bar tape owner, nice colour coordination!
21.07.2025 11:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'll see you there, all being well. Sleeping sounds great, but I thought it would be a good idea to ride to Baldock...
11.07.2025 17:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ooh, exciting! I guess it's a -1+1 rather than the more common +1. π
11.07.2025 16:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've had a chat with a Californian colleague first thing on (my) Monday morning before...
08.07.2025 17:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh, I didn't know that was a thing anywhere other than the one place I've come across it up north.
Very well decorated though!
And in winter! Are you doing 4 concurrent RRTY or something?
16.02.2025 20:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Heh, I was about to replace the USB port on mine, until I tried getting all the fluff out with a toothpick. It was much better after that!

Some years ago I was involved in debugging an issue involving uninitialised memory on an embedded device. The symptoms were correlated with particular units - the contents were random over the population but tended to be very similar for one individual device.
12.12.2024 21:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I had one, and ran Debian on it! I could connect to the internet via IR to my phone, but ssh over GPRS felt slow even then.
10.12.2024 15:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You could also use the datagram mode instead of byte stream, as long as the maximum packet size isn't an issue (a couple of hundred kB IIRC, somewhat tuneable).
03.12.2024 14:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0At the same time, no doubt the actual reason is to reduce the BOM cost a bit. π
25.11.2024 12:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As someone who doesn't usually replace perfectly functional devices every two years, it's only very recently I've stopped being annoyed at having to get more cables because all mine are micro (we still use devices with mini B).
I wonder if lots of hobbyists are similar.
