Most birds prefer not, though I think sparrows are quite social.
NB that one looks like a box aimed at robins and wrens, which apparently should be sited about 1m above the ground, preferably in good cover. We've got an RSPB one waiting for me to get round to putting it up behind the holly bush.

It looks like you can renounce your British citizenship, though perhaps she didn't realise? (Or was just trying to get the best of both worlds, in which case well... rather less sympathy!)

I guess maybe the reason I hadn't realised sooner is because it doesn't actually apply to me, so I hadn't noticed until seeing headlines last month that it would affect all dual nationals.

Which one is Julie? Is that the woman in Spain? (The version I see in reader mode doesn't have names).
The huge disparity between sixteen pounds for an ETA if you're not a UK national and nearly six hundred for the certificate for dual nationals is eye watering!

Help wanted.
Can anyone identify the clothing worn by the young woman in this portrait photo by W.T. Furniss who is buried at Wardsend.
It looks like work wear e.g. munitions worker (the period is right) but the scarf/neckerchief and fascinator(?) are a bit of a puzzle.

I'm just pissed off that a) this is actually a sudden rule change for UK dual nationals and b) it's really unclear in all the announcements until you check the details that Irish passports count as local in this case. (Not just that travel to/from Ireland might not be included).

Travelling to the UK
As a dual national, you must travel to the UK using either:
* a valid UK or Irish passport
* any other valid passport with a certificate of entitlement
No thankfully the webpage is clear Irish passport is fine:

Not that I entirely blame the headline writers, as saying "UK or Irish passport" might just be confusing for everyone else.
