I make 3-4Qts of chicken stock most weeks.
I use it for soups (duh), and sauces, bases for casseroles, risotto if I'm feeling like some Italian.
Once upon a time it cost about the same as getting the equivalent number of cartons, but the cost of chicken wings has exploded ... but its still better.

I had some backend software development plans fermenting in the background for my side gig. Casual conversations can lead to interesting connections. One such conversation could accelerate those plans and make the side gig less side and more regular. We’ll see where this leads.

Upgraded from snow shovel to snow blower.
Driveway was still snowed/iced over from earlier this week, so I didnt do a great job because the snow had been compacted, but its better than it was and we can walk the dog up to the road now.

When I’m in the car I tend to listen to Sirius radio - and bounce between CNN/Msnbc, 70s, 80s, 90s, and techno (bpm/diplo). But still listen to a lot of 80s Australian rock via Apple Music. I suspect Sirius would under guess my age, but Apple would nail it.

I don’t do Spotify, but Apple Music did something similar this year. Surprising amount of ELO (I listened to a lot of Mr Blue Sky as sort of my anthem before flying to get me in the mood). The amount of Icehouse and Dire Straits I listen to was less of a surprise.

The room received a “tech refresh” last summer - a fresh coat of blackboard paint.

The tv in the room I use is continually unhooked and rolled against the side wall so someone can use the blackboard. There is chalk dust everywhere. It is barely a tech enabled room.

I’ve been working in a “tech enabled” classroom this semester. The tech consisted of no AC, an occupancy sensing light switch that kept turning the lights off, a 60” TV on wheels that took 5 min to recognize a HDMI connection … and the device pictured. I couldn’t figure out where to plug my laptop.

Not a state dinosaur though - which I thought was interesting. Didn’t they describe the Tully Monster as a gelatinous blob?

I’m far from having a green thumb … but these are going to be interesting. The flowers are edible. They have a unique effect on tastebuds that alter flavors.

Sure, we have basketball in Australia, but the hype in the gym wasnt exactly NBA level, but it was more than we see at high school games in Oz.

As a freshly minted American, I did something very American tonight and completely foreign to me … I attended my “first cousin once removed”’s varsity basketball game. As a freshman she was second highest in scoring in the game, and I suspect had the most court time. It was a fun night.
