I love using science in writing to explain fantasy elements. My current fave: selective perception + psychological schotomata = we just don't *see* Vampires and werewolves. It explains how monsters suddenly appear... they were there all along. You just don't notice until the teeth snap together XD

So many ND people I know have a great love of vampire stories. Something about the haunted 'other' forced to watch the world from a distance - part of, yet apart from, humanity. I always loved these often sad and romantic tales - and they helped me to see myself as beautiful in all my difference ❤️
