Legality of Exposing ICE
Civil Liberties Defense Center has filed a major new challenge to ICE's authority. On September 3, 2025 our client received a notification from Meta that they had been served by ICE with a subpoena seeking extensive personal information related to ourclient's Facebook and Instagram accounts.ICE, an immigration enforcement agency, does not have the authority to conduct independent criminal investigations, andespecially not of a US citizen suspected ofnon-immigration related crimes. Our clientruns Stopice.net, a website that tracks andmonitors ICE activity and is one of six people named in the subpoena
While constitutionally concerning on its own, what makes this case different is ICE's use of an "administrative subpoena" in an attempt to obtain information way outside ICE's authority. In the world of subpoenas there are two types, those issued by lawyers, judges and courts related to a pending legal action, like a trial or major hearing, and those issued by agencies like the IRS or ICE. An administrative subpoena, sometimes called an "agency subpoena," is ordinarily used by the agency to conduct business. For example, the IRS doesn't need to go to a court and ask a judge for a warrant to conduct a tax investigation, they can just issue a subpoena for information directly because Congress has granted them that authority.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Assata Shakur — revolutionary, writer, and freedom fighter.
After surviving state violence, wrongful conviction, and years of imprisonment, Assata escaped the Clinton Correctional Facility for Women in New Jersey on November 2nd, 1979. She was freed by members of the Black Liberation Army, who posed as visitors, took two guards hostage, and commandeered a prison van. After a period in hiding, Shakur resurfaced in Cuba in 1984 where they embraced her and was granted political asylum and refuge. For over 45 years, despite being placed on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list they were were never able to capture her. She remains a symbol of freedom, resistance, and defiance against an empire built on prisons and police. She is a testament to liberation and courage against an empire that tried to break her. Assata lives on in every struggle for Black liberation, every fight against prisons and police, every act of solidarity with oppressed peoples worldwide. She will remain in our hearts forever. REST in POWER, Assata!!!

Hello, everyone. Thank you for your support. Whatyou all are doing makes a huge difference for
political prisoners and their families. The War Chest
has been an invaluable resource during my
incarceration! These past three years would have
been incredibly difficult without your love. Peace
and respect to you.

Salutations and felicitations to all of my Running Down the Walls
Comrades!
Yet again we have travelled another circuit of the seasons and come
to the time and place for another operation of what has become an
institution outside of the barricade: the Running Down the Walls
run/walk/roll in support of fewer walls and cages and greater freedom
and community. The need for our side of the barricade to come
together to do as much as possible is becoming ever more acute.
The forces pillage and plunder are raising an increasingly dark social
storm cloud that segregates the human family into inherently
different and necessarily competitive groups surrounded by both
physical and cultural walls over which only enmity and conquest fly.
The image is hard to avoid. But that just makes it easier to resist!
And so we will when we lace up our
shoes, pull on our gloves, and RUN
DOWN THE WALLS, conscious of our
brethren, sistren, the men all moving
in the same direction with a rhythm
that will push back the storm, erode
the barriers between people, and
move the movement a little farther
down the road to revolution. I'll be
with you if not in person, in presence,
if not as fast more committed, as I
run down walls inside them.
The Future Holds Promise

Greetings, brothers and sisters,
on this beautiful day. It's time to
push for the limits and run down
the walls. I love this event, and I
hope to be free one day to run
alongside you all. But for now
I'm praying from the inside of
these ugly death camps, sending
you all my energy, prayers, and
words. Be strong at all times
and especially today. Envision in
your mind's eye those walls.
being taken down forever.
Remember East Berlin, Germany, where there is evidence that it can be a manifest reality.
It can be real! I love you all. You all are my heart. I thank you all and
love you very much. We all can make it happen. — Oso Blanco, US
political prisoner, 2025 Running Down the Walls statement
Dearest Comrades,
Greetings from behind the layered walls of imprisonment, where we are
captives in rebellion seeking collective liberation. We are each braving the
forces of fascism, and although we may not know all that confines you,
we hear and meet your calls for freedom. May we all draw strength today from the future we are building, the necessity of the times we are in, andfrom the memories of our fallen.
Our comrades in Athens once declared boldly, "The passion for freedom
is stronger than their cells", and we wholeheartedly profess the same.
Between the rage and sorrow of our forced separation and more
importantly the separation of vecinos all around you, we know
undoubtedly that social media posts, yard signs, and performative
protests are no longer enough. We need revolutionary commitment - a
refusal of debilitating despair and comfortable delusions. We need
examinations of uncomfortable complexities and contradictions to
resolve doubt and cast off the chains of a shallow past.
When you take to the pavement today, know that we are with you. Our
liberation bound together with great love because without it, our dreams
would have no meaning. Today we move with you; in motion, imagination,
and spirit: great strikes against defeat! Although we have yet to abolish
these prisons where pain goes to burrow, multiply, and explode, we
remain hopeful because from the shadows of these margins, humans
brave daring acts of subversion.
We are able to live with our losses
without succumbing to misery because of your unwavering comradeship.
Running Down The Walls creates social and political bonds that make visible our existence and our shared struggle in this threatening world. We are honored to run with you because "a wall is just awall" after all, let's run those shits down!
Juntos, Peppy & Krystal
2025 Running Down the Walls statement
I just wanted to take a quick moment to send my
and respect to everyone participating in this years
Running Down The Walls. As the fascist grip tightens on
the entire planet, we need to remind those already
incarcerated and everyone who may join them that we
will speak their names, honor their sacrifices, and send
whatever aid we can. Remember: despite this rising tide
of war, repression, and ecocide- we are not beaten, our
friends are not forgotten, and the
struggle continues. With all of our
efforts these walls may yet be
brought down.
With gratitude,
Josh Harper, former US political
prisoner, 2025 Running Down the
Walls statement
As a former political prisoner and recipient of mutual aid I
send you greetings from unceded Wabanaki land (aka
"Maine"). When Running Down the Walls first kicked off in
September, 1999 I was fifteen years into 20 years of
imprisonment and stuck in a segregation cell. I was
isolated and lonely but I never felt alone because every
day in those cages I felt the very real support of folks like
you gathered here today.
Solidarity is our greatest weapon. Solidarity in resistance.
Solidarity in the struggle for liberation Solidarity moving
forward. Mutual aid is an essential part of this solidarity.
Mutual aid is about survival pending liberation. And not
just about survival, but surviving with our humanity intact.
Each step you take today for
OUR imprisoned brothers and
sisters is a step in movement
building that values life and
freedom. I have much
appreciation for your
commitment. I will join you
September 21 from 3,000
miles away, doing 5K along the
banks of the Passagassawakeag River (aka "the Passy).

Anarchism in Indonesia is so interesting because the tired debates of social/lifestylism, especifismo, nihilism, insurrectionary, individualist etc. don't matter. They take what they need and build a functional synthesis. Yeah they're insurrectos, but also especifistas. It works.

Black August is a month of reflection, education, and action dedicated to honoring Black freedom fighters, political prisoners, and resistance movements—especially those connected to the prison abolition and Black liberation struggles.
It began in California’s San Quentin State Prison, started by incarcerated members of the Black Guerrilla Family, including activists like George Jackson, who was a revolutionary and political prisoner killed by prison guards on August 21, 1971. The month also commemorates the deaths and resistance of other figures such as:
George Jackson – Member of
the Black Panther Party and
co-founder of the Black Guerrilla Family. Author of Soledad Brother and Blood in My Eye. He was assassinated in San Quentin on August 21, 1971
Jonathan Jackson – George’s younger brother who tried to free the Soledad Brothers in a Marin County courthouse on August 7, 1970. He was only 17 when he was killed.

Drop the Charges!
for- Alejandro Orellana
On July 10, a trial date was set for immigrant rights activist Alejandro Orellana: August 26.
Alejandro was arrested by the FBI on June 12 for protesting against ICE in Los Angeles. He now faces up to 5 years in prison on two bogus federal charges:
– Conspiracy to commit civil disorder
– Aiding and abetting civil disorder
This is pure political repression!
His so-called “crime”? Allegedly driving a truck carrying face shields to a protest—while police prepared to shoot rubber bullets at the crowd.
Alejandro has spent years fighting for justice!
*Against police killings of Chicano and Latino youth like 14-year-old Jesse Romero
*Against deportations and ICE
*Against U.S. wars and political repression
*As a committed member of Centro CSO in East LA
Now the US government, led by Trump-aligned prosecutor Bilal Essayli, is targeting him to send a message to all of us:
sit down, stay silent, and accept injustice!
WE SAY NO!
On August 26, we are calling for a National Day of Protest to demand that all charges be dropped.
Last month, on June 27, “National Day of Action for Alejandro Orellana”, at
least 16 cities held protests or press conferences in front of their federal courthouses.
Let’s make sure there
are even more on August 26. In addition to planning local protests, we ask that organizations submit
statements of support and to join in the call to DROP THE CHARGES!

Running Down the Walls is more than a 5K—it’s a symbol of solidarity with political prisoners, a physical demonstration of collective care, and a key fundraising pillar for support services through the Warchest.
Anarchist Black Cross SoFLo
will be holding multiple Running Down The Walls event fundraisers across Florida & the nation to kick off our first Annual participation with ABCF. Stay tuned for locations and ways you can donate and or even become a sponsor.

Jakhi McCray is being hunted, caged, and criminalized not for violence, but for resistance. He is being targeted for his unapologetic stance, his rage and for standing up against colonial violence, white supremacy, and genocide.
This is not about property damage. This is about the state silencing voices that refuse to bow. We will not let the system disappear him. We will not let them isolate him. We ride for our people.
Solidarity is not a hashtag. It's protection. It's defense. It's action.
“Our greatest strength is eachother- that we are not just co-workers maintaining appearances for the duration of the shift.
we are comrades and with that comes a promise to love, defend and fight for one another. Because you are my comrades, I hold this promise towards all of you.
I don’t know what will happen now, but I do know that I will never stop fighting and I will do my best wherever I find myself to be.”
With Love and Solidarity,
Jakhi McCray

Jakhi Walked into the 83rd precinct in Brooklyn, ny and turned himself in, after accusations of setting police vehicles on fire belonging to that precinct. His charges come with a minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum sentence of 20 years.
After a month of relentless persecution with his home being raided, alongside 2 other addresses in New York city and his little siblings having assault rifles being brandished at them as they were harassed and forced outside, with a federal bounty on his head of $30 k, jakhi decided turning himself in was the best course of action.

Kojo is a New Afrikan Prisoner of War and former member of the Black Liberation Army. He was born on May 27, 1953, in Atlantic City, NJ. After losing both parents by age 11, Kojo remained committed to the values his mother instilled—especially the belief that education is a tool for liberation.
He was captured in 1975 during a bank expropriation alongside anarchist Ojore Lutalo, and later convicted of seditious conspiracy in 1981, receiving a 55-year sentence. In 1988, Kojo was convicted in a high-profile prison escape conspiracy involving helicopters, explosives, and fellow revolutionary Oscar López Rivera.
While Oscar was granted clemency and Ojore was paroled in 2009, Kojo remains imprisoned. Once his federal sentence ends, he is expected to be transferred to state prison to potentially serve 15 more years.
