so by minimizing their own issues they condone those issues. they would rather play by the system and perpetrate it than to realize they were a victim of it.

i think these realizations require an uncomfortable amount of reflection for a lot of people. it's almost like an awakening of sorts, and i've found many would rather not wake up out of fear and discomfort, from my experience. so it tends to be you realize the issue with things or you don't.

The final piece of advice I would like to give to new folks tonight is that Bluesky will be what you make of it. When I came over from the former Twitter, I resolved to be more kind to others here than I was over there. That choice has made being here so much better. Keep it in mind for yourself.
