Healthcare is even worse, because insurance is essentially financing costs before they are even incurred.

The affordability crisis is caused by excessively available financing.

Financing allows the demand for something to rise independently from wages.

The purchases which are the most dominated by financing, have seen the greatest rises in price vs median income.

You don't trust them to administer welfare or healthcare...

But you trust them with the power to execute their own citizens?

Fine, but then the accepted forms of ID must be free to obtain or it's a poll tax and you're violating the 24th amendment.

A true American patriot who reveres the foundational principles of liberty enshrined in the constitution should become nauseated by the mere appearance of an executive branch that moves to punish dissent, disrespect, or disloyalty to itself.

Did anyone ever consider that perhaps congress should hold the authority to institute tariffs and not the president?

This could be a winning issue in future congressional elections.

Most corporate oligarchs would support that agenda like their lives depended on it.

"Due process" means that the government must take fair and objective efforts to find if someone is guilty, and give them a chance to defend themselves before you punish them on mere suspicion.
