As artists it can feel like there's a pressure to make art faster, more generic, and marketable for a wide audience. Generating art is that idea to an extreme. I think we need to embrace niche art that has thought and care put into it. Not just for clients, but making something only for yourself.

For Bird Of The Day Least, a colour photograph, captured by the side of a deserted country road, of three ducks, one turkey and four chickens scurrying down the road as if they were escaping from the processing plant. It was a most unusual sight!

While stopped on a deserted country road, this group of feathered friends scurried by. It was the oddest thing, like they were on the lam from a processing plant.

I’m 52, it’s 7:54am here, and it’s already happened twice today.

Underneath the whole image are dark grey girder-like structures holding everything up. These are covered at the top by luxuriant growth in greens, reds, oranges & yellows representing our beautiful world. At the bottom of the painting there is a black soup gradually making its way up to the beauty of the top where it is killing off the lush growth. Between the black & the colourful are the bad players represented by yellow & black stripey snakelike creatures.

"Crisis" My interpretation of the world as it is at the moment, but could just as easily be a state of mind or life. There is always hope however!

A large greenish wave is breaking as it meets the beach. The exposure is slowed down so the water is smooth. There are some white areas of froth above and lines as the wave breaks, as well as on the beach in front. Behind is grey sea.

I have a few favourite wave photos, taken over the years at a few beaches in #Iceland, and this is one of them, from this day in 2021. Slowing down the exposure (this is 0.3 sec) allows you to capture some beautiful movement 🌊
