I haven't had to use this approach, but something like OBS should be able to detect audio from Discord in addition to other desktop sounds, like games. If you set up a channel and talk into it on your phone, you could also listen on your pc.

White, yellow, gray.
Would add brown, but I think that's gradually happening on its own anyway as I spend more time on here.
A screenshot from Kabuki Quantum Fighter. The character hangs over an expanse of spiked floors, with flowing water at both ends and several other grapple points leading up to a length of ceiling that can be grabbed and used to continue further through the stage. The information panel below shows the player's Life represented by a line of large red squares and Chip (weapon energy) seen as thinner blue rectangles. The Enemy bar is empty, as it is reserved for boss encounters. To the right, the current weapon is displayed; at this particular moment, the red swirl indicates attacks will be made with Scott's hair (unless crouching, in which case he punches, or, as he's suspended from a platform, a sweeping kick attack will be made). The bottom-most information includes the player's score, lives remaining, and level timer.
The graphics were quite good in terms of what developers were pumping out in the early 90s. Environments were varied, backgrounds were moderately detailed, and animations, while not spectacular, still felt above average for the most part.
07.08.2025 01:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0One unique aspect to the gameplay was that, while the game was paused during bosses, the player could exchange life energy for weapon energy and vice-versa. This could be used both to survive boss encounters if you weren't using weapons, or fire off more special weapons if you were adept at dodging.
07.08.2025 01:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Weapons varied in power and energy cost, and they ranged from single-shot projectiles to lobbed bombs. Most enemies would fall quickly enough to your basic attack: whipping them with your lengthy red hair... a combat technique most of us wouldn't see again until Shantae had her debut a decade later.
07.08.2025 01:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Gameplay was your standard fare: traversing levels -- mostly horizontal, some with vertical sections -- and dealing with a handful of enemies before taking down a boss, which would grant access to a new weapon for future stages. Enemies had a mix of both organic and technological features.
07.08.2025 01:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The plot has the protagonist, one Colonel Scott O'Conner, volunteering to have his mind transferred into a military defense computer to combat a rogue program that's becoming a threat to all humanity. He finds himself in the appearance of a kabuki actor, a connection to his great-great-grandfather.
07.08.2025 01:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Kabuki Quantum Fighter was actually a tie-in with a movie upon release, though the references were removed for overseas versions.
As a platformer, it wasn't exactly something that you'd rave about at school, but it was a decently-challenging addition to the NES library all the same.
Post your jank!
Your 7/10 games. Your weird games you like but were never gonna set the world on fire.
It seemed to lack a few of the synergies found between other class' trees. Necro pets get boosted by Curses being applied, Paladin abilities are supplemented by Auras, Barbs get Shouts for a number of buffs, etc.
So, I'm looking forward to giving Nature Boy another try. We'll see what he can do.
Sure, Druids get a couple unique things like Rabies or Vines, but I largely felt like picking a different class could do those same things, but better.
Pets? Necro.
Fighter? Assassin, Paladin.
Caster? Sorc.
Hopefully, there's something fresh waiting when I roll a Druid this time around.
Very D2-centered lately...
I haven't played all of the classes in Resurrected yet, though I've heard a lot of good things about what they're trying to do for balance.
Take the Druid. I always saw that class as "not quite any class" because the skill trees are *almost* those of several others.
Casters and Amazons like that they can sit back behind the little bone army and safely bombard enemies. Melee players love seeing Amp Damage, plus Life Tap keeps them alive. Stacking Decrepify, Clay Golem, and any source of cold damage is great for shutting down bosses, too.
I love being that guy.
Speaking of rushes and endgame content... I enjoy the journey. I like getting into a party and going from one end of the game to the other together as a team.
Which is largely why I like the Necromancer. He's versatile. Skeletons do decent damage, take hits, and I can debuff enemies to help allies.
Sure, you get a few free respecs and can get more if needed, but you can't swap your Sorc back and forth between Ice and Lightning ten times in one sitting.
Granted, it doesn't take terribly long to get a character rushed to endgame if you DO find some build-defining gear for a different spec.
I like games where I can build a character from scratch or take a base type and customize it.
D2 does an alright job of scratching that itch; no so much D3, as you can swap any skill for another as needed depending on what loot you pick up for your build.
Gonna stream those. Gonna stream the cute, easygoing, relaxed games, too, but there might be a bit of blood or language now and then.
I'll make sure to specify before streaming, in case you'd prefer gardening over grimdark adventures (or vice-versa).
I don't swear a lot, so that's PG-13 at most.
I've played a bit of everything. I still play a bit of everything.
There's cozy stuff like Fields of Mistria, incremental games like Tap Titans, had a small addiction to Tetrisphere in high school, and a fair number of games that Twitch labels as "Mature" like Borderlands and Diablo, among others.
There's a bit of work to do on the Twitch page yet. Profile, links, all that jazz.
Only used it a couple times in the past. Up until that awkwardly quiet Minecraft stream, the channel was pretty vacant after a handful of mid-pandemic rounds of Jackbox games with the family. Didn't need any info.
Both of my favorite builds -- skellymancer and frost zealot -- are pretty light when it comes to gear requirements along the leveling path. A runeword here or a set item there can help, but their skills do most of the work with minimal mana cost through Normal and Nightmare modes.
05.08.2025 22:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Let's ramble a bit. Getting excited to have the audio things hammered out for the next time I fire up OBS.
We'll be running D2:R, as was planned for today, but the audio troubles took priority. It's going to be a fresh Ladder character and I'll almost certainly be rolling Necro.
Tinkering with audio for today. May pop on with a small broadcast later, but the majority of today's efforts are going to be spent making things sound decent. Yesterday's was significantly lower than expected and it doesn't do much good to yap during the stream if no one hears anything.

Sun: Often working 6am-2pm
Mon: Home
Tues: Often home
Wed-Sat: Working 6am-2pm
The few weekends I get are, 99% of the time, spoken for in advance. Mondays and most Tuesdays will be the big days, with a handful of random 30m-60m ones after work on others.

Smallish list o' games that I'm fond of and could happily be stuck playing forever:
Diablo 2 is a bit of middle-ground between the first and third titles in terms of early-game action. D3 has flashy enemy-exploding skills from the get-go. The first title is very "if I come across two foes, I'm as good as dead" dungeon-crawly. Early D2 is a nice mix of killing and fleeing at times.
