The Belt Line was supposed to knit together the city with a 22 mile circle of streetcars. None have been built. And they're only looking to build streetcars on the Southside trail.

Why do they make it so hard?

True Crime isn't really a very cheerful genre. But this doc was super sad.

I read "Somewhere Towards Freedom" about the huge impact Sherman's March had on emancipation. Everything I've read about Sherman's March up to then only focused on military strategy and the idea of Total War. But his March created an avenue for 100's of thousands slaves to free themselves.

I was in HS in GA back in the 80's. I hated the lost cause back then. I thought because of that, I had a less racist read of history cause I could see their racist views.

But time and again, I'm amazed at how deeply basic American racism has affected my read on history.
