Mossmorran closure leaves workers in the dark as governments fail to Ministers cannot claim to have been taken by surprise

And whilst the UK Government is promising to step in and help, the money is yet to be seen.

The workers and community at Mossmorran deserve so much better than this.

The Scottish Greens will keep fighting for a properly funded just transition for Mossmorran.

I was proud to open the debate for the Scottish Greens in my colleagues Mark Ruskell's Bill on ending greyhound racing in Scotland for good.

The only way to protect these dogs is to end the practice entirely.

Today the Scottish Parliament will vote on @markruskell.bsky.social's Bill to ban greyhound racing in Scotland. 🐶

This cruel 'sport' results in the deaths of hundreds of dogs a year in the UK and is only legal in a handful of countries.

It's time to end it in Scotland for good.

Council apologises for part in infamous Tinker experiments Perth and Kinross Council participated in the forcible assimilation of Scottish Gypsy/Travellers between the 1940s and 1980s.

I asked Perth & Kinross Council to issue an apology to gypsy traveller communities last Summer after successfully working with the Scottish Government leading to a national apology.
They refused, but better late than never and now time for action.

Yesterday's announcement of new funding for a just transition for Mossmorran is welcome.
