13.02.2026 19:35 โ ๐ 20 ๐ 8 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 5The point is that people are being priced out of their cities; gentrification often leads to displacement. People don't leave Blue States because they want to, it's often because they need to so they don't end up homeless. Not addressing this has been a major failure for a large portion of Democrats
13.02.2026 19:59 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I mean you're the one being dismissive of plenty of folks living experiences, including my own but I'm the dick; aiight
13.02.2026 19:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What do you think causes gentrification?
13.02.2026 18:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Or you can look at my profile for 5.minites to see where I stand instead of making blind assumptions
13.02.2026 18:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yea that tends to happen when people from NY or other states with higher incomes move to other low cost of living states. They bring the cost of living up
13.02.2026 18:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0No, I'm a firm believer in taxing wealth more & taxing labor less.
13.02.2026 18:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Right, because I wouldn't know why my sister moved to Charlotte
13.02.2026 18:37 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm sure
13.02.2026 18:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Texas, North Carolina,Florida, Arizona etc I have friends & family move down south because it was too expensive to stay in New York. People don't want to leave, they're priced out
13.02.2026 18:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I've had several friends & family move out of New York because they could not afford to stay here; that's the point that you keep on disregarding
13.02.2026 18:13 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Can you not read?
13.02.2026 17:36 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Having little Interest in something almost 20 years ago & being uninformed aren't remotely the same
13.02.2026 17:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Didn't say it was, I said Democrats that have had a tri-fecta in their states aren't extensively addressing their constituents basic needs which is driving some people to unwillingly leave.
13.02.2026 17:23 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0When did I say I didn't understand it?
13.02.2026 17:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I live in NY, my friends until recently lived in Jersey City, I used to work in in Jersey City. Yes you have densely populated areas of your state, but you also have a terribly expensive development pattern that's sprawling.
13.02.2026 17:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As I said before, land use & tax policies determine how much revenue is allocated & where it's dispersed. If a large portion of your state is rural &/or suburban, then you'll either raise taxes like NY/CA or cut spending on public services like NV/FL.
13.02.2026 17:03 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 2If you have to attack one's character to prove a point, then you don't even have to respond.
13.02.2026 16:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Who said they have to get everything done in 1 term, there's over 200 policy positions that are popular on both sides of the aisle. Pick 5 run on them & ensure they get passed.
vop.org/common-ground/
The outcome can & will be compromised bc you have to get everyone to agree, yes; but your initial position shouldn't start in the other person's favor. You don't lowball your own demands out the gate; bc of this the immediate wins were sidelined for long-term investments that voters wouldn't see
13.02.2026 16:02 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It generally comes down to land use & tax policy. If over 80% of your residential land uses are dedicated towards low density suburban sprawl, you'll either have to rely on high property taxes or use your downtowns as economic cores to subsidize the rest of the state which means a higher cost in ๐ ๐ข
13.02.2026 15:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Again, there will always be a GOP shit storm to fix, when was the last time the US had 2 back to back Dem administrations? Democrats are held to a higher standard bc they insist only they can fix it. The clearest example of this was Cuomo & Mamdani, the former called the latter a do nothing idealist
13.02.2026 15:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Years ago in my college days, wasn't something I was particularly interested in at the time. I'm not arguing that it's easy to get people to agree, I'm arguing that when you negotiate from a compromised position, you get fucked the same way you would on any negotiation
13.02.2026 15:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That's absolving him of any accountability, you can't keep saying Democrats would do so much more for ppl if they had more power when you can look at solid Blue States that are hemorrhaging people bc they can't afford to live there. Libs believe a good economy trickles down to a better life for all
13.02.2026 15:06 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 6 ๐ 2If only there was legislation to prevent disenfranchisement of marginalized groups that historically vote for Democrats
www.congress.gov/bill/117th-c...
No the issue stems from Dems introducing compromised legislation to appease Republicans when the GOP hasn't done that. Best example of this was the ACA, which was Mitt Romneys plan. Obama cut parts out & they still didn't vote for it. Biden should have known better
13.02.2026 14:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Bernie's issues stem from not building a wider coalition & being dismissive of how race factors into class. He may have his feelings on his stance with Israel, but at least he doesn't talk down to others that feel Israel is an apartheid state
