I think it's totally fine and healthy to take puppies and kittens away from their mother immediately after birth and give them up away to a new family.

only thought is that this is an interesting question, and im curious what lead you to it. Do you have a hypothesis? I figured the stats would be lower for adoptees, it’s hard to do ethical non monogamy with unhealed abandonment trauma, rejection sensitivity, insecurity etc.

the relation of parent to child is one of stewardship, not ownership. but #adoption is designed to confer legal parenthood through the issuing of false birth records, which give the adopters permanent ownership of the adoptee's identity. why can't adult adoptees legally emancipate themselves?

Understand that identity erasure is the bedrock of #adoption as we know it. It’s entirely independent of the distinction between “closed” and “open” adoptions. Virtually every adoption decree results in the adoptee receiving a *new birth certificate*, as if their very origins had been transformed.
