Gomez is definitely not my cat. He is solidly bonded to one of my children and merely tolerates my presence. He knows exactly when they arrive home from school and waits by the front door.
Gomez is a talker.

A chubby slug sits atop a textured piece of wood, a log perhaps. Slight trails of mucus stick to the wood as the slug lifts itself up off the wood to stretch.

It is cold and will continue to be cold. My house is drafty and expensive to heat. Turning up the heat is akin to opening up my wallet and allowing the wind to scoop up the paper bills and sweep them away in a chaotic flutter.
I am daydreaming of warmth and smol slug friends who hide under logs.
