Oops, apologies for the terrible audio! I didn't realize my screencapture software was recording sound, otherwise I would have made sure to mute it before uploading.

I made my life hard by cramming 4 players onto a single keyboard with simple arrow controls, so I set out to make a menu that could be navigated using the 4 directional inputs alone. And of course I wanted to set up CPU players on the same screen as the humans. It was rough but I'm happy with it!

If you had told me a couple months ago that the hardest part of the game I wanted to make was the character select screen, I wouldn't have believed you. #gamedev #screenshotsaturday

Now to start learning how to do the graphics and whatnot to make it look good!

Stayed up until 2 last night working on a CPU enemy for my game. After some more refinement today I'm happy to say it works well enough to beat me. #gamedev

Haven't been very active on social media lately, but the last few months have been me whittling down my expectations for game dev ideas until I've finally settled on one that sounds doable in my spare time within a year. Not ready to share yet but hopefully will finish a demo in a couple months!

Finally giving the Discworld series a read and I'm loving it. One of my favorite descriptions:

Me repeating this to myself like a Bene Gesserit reciting the litany against fear as I browse news headlines.

I know movie theaters make most of their profits from concessions and that's why it's so expensive, but when it comes to people like me who won't ever pay $10 for popcorn they could make some extra money by selling a ticket that costs a few more dollars and lets me bring in my own food.

Legit getting nervous about my work trip in a month.

This last news week has been a bad time to buy plane tickets, hopefully everything will still be fine in a month.

And yes, getting beaten with a stick would be an improvement to my mental health vs nervously refreshing reddit every 5 minutes.

For hire: someone to come to my house every day at 10pm and beat me senseless if I'm still doomscrolling instead of winding down for the day and reading a book I enjoy.

I started writing this song in Sept '24, feeling hopeful at the thought of a Harris win and 4 more years of sanity.

That didn't happen, so I finished it out of spite instead. May it uplift you these next 4 years.

I made a thing! I don't know much when it comes to painting (digitally or in real life), but today I gave a VR painting app a try and really enjoyed it. I'm especially happy with how the starry sky turned out. (I might revisit the mountains on a future date). Now for some Bob Ross tutorials!

I'm really close to finishing my latest piece of music! But before I release it, I started toying with an orchestral version. Which do you prefer? Should I finish the orchestral version?

I've been using Workflowy for organizing my work and todo lists since 2016, and it was just this week that I learned it has a kanban board feature from @chrisdeleon.bsky.social's course on finishing large projects. Planning out my day to day tasks just got a lot better!

Thanks! My main focus at the moment is actually getting it working over the network so it can be a multiplayer pvp experience! It's been a lot but it's coming along well.

Months ago I made a small FPS prototype starting with the Unity Learn template. The problem is I didn't understand how half of it worked.

I've spent the last few days remaking it from scratch, except now I know how all the pieces work so finishing the game actually sounds doable!
