Still amazed by this unlikely game even existing thanks to the perseverance of @mitmit.bsky.social and yours truly, the trust of the team, the unwavering support of lovely people, and the (tough?) love YOU give us every loop!
death stranding 2 screenshot of Sam doing a thumbs up to activate his ring terminal
photo of katie inadvertently making a thumbs up while holding a PS5 controller to reach the menu button
here is a thing I love: the thumbs up gesture has a lot of significance in death stranding, and in the sequel Sam gets a little wearable device on his thumb; he accesses the game menu screen diagetically by doing a thumbs up, which you also mimic in person to hit the menu button on the PS5

Feels odd to be offering this, but we are still recruiting for a bunch of roles at Arkane Lyon including some not yet on the site (production, level design)
Contact me if I can help, and courage.

10+ years ago, out of sheer luck, I spent time in the orbit of Viktor Antonov. Since learning of his passing last week, memories came flooding back.
With the news now public, Iβd like to share a few anecdotes to help remember the person - as much as the achievements already poised to outlive him.
Other than these two nitpicks I really appreciated this version in many ways from esthetics and casting to the nuances to the myth(ology) and themes. And this is from someone for whom Coppola's Dracula is a top 10, maybe top 5 movie, so it was a hard sell going in π§π€
06.01.2025 01:11 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe these two items are intentionally surrealist, willfully and lovingly replicating both Bram Stoker's mood and plot points and that light incoherence from Murnau's "legally distinct" adaptation, but it gave me an uneasy feeling of mainland Europe being shown as a uniform blob/fake decor.
06.01.2025 01:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 02) what was the itinerary of the ship from Romania to northern Germany? I get that traveling by land is dangerous for Orlock, but isn't a crazy detour? It made some sense in Dracula where he was traveling to London on the Demeter but here it is really an unnecessary detour/risk (insert βΈοΈβ°οΈ joke).
06.01.2025 01:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 01) Wisburg didn't feel much like Germany? Esthetically and thematically it was very hard not to see England (or Gristol? π ). Feels like a missed opportunity for a more mainland European approach to this story/setting, no?
06.01.2025 01:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I really loved Nosferatu, beautiful retelling of both the original and Dracula. I just have two superficial issues, maybe people here can help me make peace with them?
(Very light spoilers) so I'll put them in π§΅
My last post of 2024 will be to thank the level designer of this map for the hours of fun and mayhem.

Thank you so much @sunsetvisitor.studio, let this thread know true grace.
I think Iβve said this boringly in interviews, but one of the perks of working on existing IP is that you get to study a set of creative choices. I know TRON better than Iβll probably ever know any creative work by another person. That study is rewarding, and finding ways to adapt the essence? π¨βπ³π
11.12.2024 23:43 β π 92 π 3 π¬ 2 π 0Passion, camaraderie, art and video games, what else? I've doing some archeology of my own and through great peril I was able to dig up this other one from Mathieu Reydellet who was also apparently part of the @machinegames fanart secret society!
