Fourteen 3D assets for robotic Tek heads in Bithell Games' 'Subsurface Circular', lined up in two rows of seven. The heads vary in shape, some looking a bit more humanoid than others, but all definitively robotic. As with the concept art, none of them have human-like faces. Its label reads: Tek head game assets - Nic Tringali.

Subsurface Circular takes place in a single location and with a cast entirely of Teks, the game's robotic working class.

With that kind of focus, we wanted to take care with the setting and character design to bring the world to life, even when the player sees only a small glimpse of it.

Yeah, the anchor stuff ain’t good. I think generally ui feels the most underbaked aspect of the engine, nowhere near unity on that stuff yet

For sure.. I’m cutting with the grain more, and keeping things simple :)

Big caveats:

- the sprite sheets are grid based, nowhere near as flexible as Unity
- svgs are rasterised on import

But for me, with a prototype that needs a billion icons? Perfect

Godot having robust svg support so I can work on vector sprite sheets without intermediary pngs is one of those lovely β€˜this will save me 10 minutes a day’ solves.

And damn will it be helpful when I decide to change the lineweight on all icons an hour before an update goes live

It pains me, Sam. It’s not the most important issue facing society right now, but it’s top 5

I would also very much like to know who I need to call to get a high paid job proof reading movie scripts and fixing the coding technobabble. Someone has that job, and they are very much phoning it in.

Plot twist: Megan 2.0 is… a fun action comedy that knows exactly what it is? I get why it pissed people off as a horror sequel, but I also got enough giggles to justify my rental.

Calling it now, cult hit when it hits streaming.

The nice thing about not being the person who posts from our official accounts is I get to be pleasantly reminded of something by them.. I’d forgotten my structural drafts for SC. Fingers crossed Caitlin checked them for naughty words before posting (she definitely did)

It does, but taking that and associating hundreds of images (to allow for rebinding) is a big job I’m excited to avoid :)

Godot peeps: what we using to do our dynamic controller icons in labels and buttons (changing based on inputs being attached detached, players remapping keyboard and controllers etc)?

Is there a goto asset or plugin, or am I cooking up my own?

lol. It is ironically the most violent predator film yet. The rating reflects more on the colour of the blood spilled than the amount.

Tonally, it takes itself about as seriously as the first film. So more humour than you might expect

Man, Predator Badlands. Trachtenberg remains the absolute master of setup and payoff. Shows you the mechanics and skeleton of a world then plays a tune on the ribcage. Lovely game design in his films.

That final sequence, my god

I can’t get over how much using Godot in 2025 feels like using Unity in 2010. Common sense memory.

I wonder if, every day or two, film people are all on social media like β€˜fuck wide shots, lazy. Indicative of societal trends and also massively patronising to the cinema going audience. All my films are shot mid and close up, because I make art’

I bet they do.
