Time change has plunged my morning commute back into darkness. Was tough to get moving today, but the weather was perfect for biking.

The city has a curb protected lane they are rushing to finish on one of the 4 lane car bridges, it adds about a mile of loud traffic and exhaust fumes to the commute which I don’t love but I do appreciate them doing something

Facing the walnut street pedestrian bridge from the south end. The right side of the bridge is blocked by detour cones and there is an open chain link fence staged for when the full repairs begin.

Preparation for the walnut st pedestrian bridge renovation is in full swing. Trying to get in as many crossings as possible before it is shut for 18 months.

Lots of rain this week, river is way high. Definitely a careful ride in over the ridge with these wet conditions.

One of the things keeping me from unhelpful nihilistic despondency is seeing the sun rise on my way in to work each day. It’s a small thing but cold air in my lungs and sun on my face as I pedal across the pedestrian bridge brings a smile and some calm.

Today went from 20 to nearly 60 (f) so a somewhat late commute in was warmish with remnants of the freeze.

First bike to work of the new year today and it was a windy cold one! My layers were enough though and the views were great
