In 2025, we spoke out for families and children, because faith demands justice.
We are particularly thankful for the recent budget result, building on our prayers and calls to the Government.

Today we want to acknowledge and thank the amazing members of our Executive Committee, we couldn’t do any of this without you.
There are committee positions up for election next year so if you are interested get in touch to join us at next AGM.

This year we’ve had some incredible organisations join us to share about their work - thank you to Aid to the Church in Need UK , JustMoney Movement, Arise UK, Church Action for Tax Justice and International Justice Mission

As we prepare for Christmas, we give thanks for the hope that inspires our politics and for the year that has been.
These words from John remind us that hope is resilient. So may Christ’s light renew our courage, deepen our compassion, and draw us into a politics shaped by love.

🎄 ❄️ Join us over the next few days for our “12 days of Christmas Advent Calendar” To celebrate and reflect on everything that has happened at Christians on the Left in 2025.

Every church leader, community volunteer, teacher I know has anecdotes about the depth of child poverty. This might feel like one for the data nerds, but it will be hugely powerful in policy terms.

There is much more to be done, but today's strategy is a welcome & transformative step towards it, the result of much hard work by so many organisations and MPs, including plenty of Christians on the Left members. (4/4)

The pledge to collect data tracking deep material poverty will put numbers to the reality that our members – through churches, community work, education and beyond – are all too well aware of, and better enable policy to meet the challenge of eradicating it. (3/4)

The strategy recognises the holistic measures needed to address the causes and consequences of child poverty, from ending the scandal of children growing up in B&Bs, to offering breakfast clubs, to scrapping the two child benefit limit. (2/4)

Ending child poverty is fundamental to our vision and values, both as Christians and of the Labour Party. The plans outlined in today's Child Poverty Strategy to lift the children of this country out of poverty are both bold and morally right. (1/4)
