There is no honor in making others struggle solely because you did. Persevering through difficulty is worth celebrating, but is worth even more if you can lessen the burden for those who come after you, especially those less fortunate, less privileged. That way lies glory.

And, in case you’ve forgotten from the first go-round, two other points never to forget:
1. Trump and his aides often lie.
2. Trump and his appointees often screw things up.

This is so true!

We celebrate mowing people down by the dozens in movies. I find it fascinating that the US, as a whole, celebrates John Wick who goes on a four-movie revenge spree. Then we clutch our collective pearls when we see people enjoying their own bodies. So American.

This phenomenon--that dysphoria drones on in the background and becomes more evident when being addressed--reminds me of the Rosa Luxemburg quote: "Those who do not move, do not notice their chains."

The equivalent of that is if an orthopedist said "your ACL is torn pretty bad, but it's not torn *enough* for us to perform surgery.

I, unfortunately, got a glimpse of what was going on with me earlier in life. The psychiatrist said "you have a significant fault in your core gender identity," but the disruption was insufficient to treat me.

That haunted me for 25 years until it was a question of transitioning or self deletion.

I nearly ate a bullet back in August because it finally got to me. Everyone else' problems with MY gender identity almost cost me my life.

Now that I am, every one of my close friends tells me that I seem more at ease, happier, and less socially awkward.

Before I started transitioning, I had a problem with my gender identity.

It is said those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. But what of those who suppress the past, distort it, sanitize it? They are not so blameless. A true warrior knows that hiding from the past is cowardice, but deliberately hiding the past is a grave dishonor.

I don't care how many times you dogpile me. This is true.

This thought is way more complex than a lot of people are realizing.

Nothing in life is so cut and dry that it can't have negative secondary, tertiary, or further consequences.

I have an unpopular opinion. I am trans and I still think the following:

She was trans, and to strip everything away from her in order to make political hay out of her murder is disgusting. I see her as a child who was murdered. Anything else, for me, is immaterial. YMMV
