A vibrantly colourful crt tv screen photo of ZX Spectrum bitmap artwork of the iconic bike slide scene from Akira. The bike is an appropriate scarlet red, while the city background is a riot of colour. The highway is a nighttime blue
"Kaneda" by Groogy (2024), a gorgeous recreation of the iconic bike slide from Akira on the ZX Spectrum in its standard graphics mode.

Exceptional coding.
Yes, but better!
06.02.2026 12:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There are also amazing new games, king amongst them, Eye of the Beholder. Do check it out.

Plays like a brick on ketamine.
I top that by having a launch game on the OUYA: Deep Dungeons of Doom.
If you cry over buying one, imagine me thinking about how much effort it went into launching a game on it...
I played a lot of Phantomas... It's wasn't immediately hard, but it was hard nonetheless.
Dinamic had incredible games. Wish they had stuck around.
I can attest to the difficulty of Dinamic games as mentioned in that list.
But Army Moves was.much harder than Navy Moves. Both easier than Game Over, though.
Walking around Shoreditch is a good way to wind down from the whirlwind of the nonstop news cycle.

Blows my mind that someone wakes up one day determined to pixel paint tiles on the street to create a Bubble Bobble sprite for strangers to enjoy.
One of the many reasons I love London.

If you get out of the AAA sphere and shift time from Blizzard/Bethesda/whatnot to indies, you'll find games are now only healthy but at their peak design wise.
I love retrogames and play them with gusto. But there are incredible new titles by the boatload on Steam and Itch.
Me and Chun sat in the Rain Bar in Manchester, both looking amazing, really, with cassette copies of Zub and 180 that Iโd just signed for him. I forget to bring my copy of The Getaway for him to sign.
Had a lovely night out in Manchester with some old gamedev work colleagues, including the legendary @chunwah.bsky.social who got me to sign old copies of Zub and 180, presumably so he can get a couple of quid more on eBay?

25.01.2026 16:46 โ ๐ 23 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Maybe check S0 & S1 as they flag incoming CPU state into the bus. If the CPU is sending out the state but the system is not latching on S0/1's state, it would cause trouble.
25.01.2026 12:31 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's an odd one. I never could get to the bottom of how it multiplexes its state into the bus... I *think* I understand it, but twice I failed to deal with it on an old VT terminal in need of fixing.
