Get and use a library card. You already paid for it with taxes.

I borrow audio books using Libby on iOS with my local library card. In 2024 I spent 114 hours listening at 2.75x, about 30 min a day on average.

- 26 audio books
- 7 comic books
- 1 epub

Would have cost ~$670 to buy these titles.

If you don’t have a local library card, it should be your New Year’s resolution to get one. It’s an easy resolution to keep and you’ll actually use it, trust me.

That one time I built a cli to generate a butt-ton of data, because no one would agree on the rules.

Shifty.site - The Layout Shift Game from Request Metrics Are you fast enough to grab the Deal of the Day? This online store is slow. Really slow. It shifts around constantly from slow-loading content. How many deals can you get before the time runs out?

I added dark mode to my website, after not touching it for 2 years 😬.

It was Everpix not Ember.

In the 2010s there was a photo service called Ember. I believe it shut down due to AWS costs.

It would let you log in to Flickr, Twitter, Facebook and it would upload your photos.

It would also make a gallery of your best shots.

Does anyone have screenshots or know the old url of this service?

I'm grateful to still have Things, 1Password, Reeder, Prompt, Procreate (but I use Linea mostly).

I'm sad about Status Board, Comixology, Coda.

Nice to have Apple pencil upgrade.

I've also upgraded to the 12.9", but miss putting the mini in my jacket pocket.

Based on the ads I'm getting, the YouTube algo is very sure that someone in our house needs diapers. It’s just not sure if we need them for kid, toddler, or adults.

Prototype I made a while back.

Trying to give user feedback when the server process length is unknown.

- check to see if the process is complete every X sec
- max timeout to ask user to check back later

1. took all 2024 pdf meeting slides
2. split pages
3. scaled them down
4. grid of all slides

Just to have a cool background for our company slides.
