That seems fair. I haven't done any work with sugar alcohols. I've seen glycerol and fructose work well for some projects, and some vegetable oils work well for others.

Nice carbon sources there. There are so many more to try, though! How do you know where to start? I've also never used Fe EDTA as a culture additive, only ferrous ammonium sulfate or ferric ammonium citrate.
