I’m hopeful we’re now 2 years into that. The squad overhaul started when conte left and we’ve been mainly buying young players to build for the future. Plenty for Frank to work with, if he also gets to bring in 3 or 4 decent new ones too.

Absolutely. I was happy for him to stay but could totally see the other side of the argument, and am very much looking forward to seeing what someone else will do with the squad.

I've noticed a bit of this. There seems to be a willingness to totally ignore the terrible league form and end position. And also the fact that we only won games when specifically NOT playing Ange-ball. It's felt a bit cult-ish.

Also, it was ultimately the logical decision to change Postecoglou. Against clubs with far less resources, his compromised approach did not suggest a path to sustained progress in the PL. The trophy made it worth it though

Or maybe there is more than one English pundit, and that both views are widely held, and neither is entirely unreasonable.

I’d be happy to see him stay on, but there seems to be a collective failure to see the glaringly obvious other side of the argument.

I’m unsure if I’m in or out, but I think ‘reaching 40 points’ and ‘turning up to league games thinking we might have a chance of winning them’ might be reasonable expectations, and an improvement on this year.

I agree. I have a feeling the club will be more ruthless than most fans would have been. It’s possible that will save writing off next season in October, but it will also leave a massive ‘what if…?’ & a huge stick for every pundit to beat him with whenever it once more looks to have gone wrong.
