The players finished 17th last season. Not sure that’s a sign they clearly bought into the last guy.

Just got home and turned on the Spurs game. Haven’t seen us complete a pass yet.

It was quite audible from where I was sat. Very depressing.

Yesterday everything slowed down whenever we got a throw in the opposition half. It gave villa the chance to organise and made it all so predictable.

Agree. Everything slowed down whenever we got a throw in in the opposition half yesterday. So predictable.

He won the treble in Scotland. He finished 17th at Spurs. It’s not that strange.

Gary Neville talking a lot of sense and with some basic empathy. This country needs more voices like his currently.

If Chelsea are guilty over Abramovich payments a fine would make a mockery of the rules | Rob Davies The FA cannot swallow the club’s argument that reporting Roman Abramovich’s alleged irregularities wipes the slate clean

Excellent from @byrobdavies.bsky.social. Football appears to have suffered an element of Chelsea amnesia since the rise of Citeh and PIF money. Abramovich's CFC were the first and arguably the most egregious of regimes to distort the modern game.

I’ve just this minute come back from a walk In BPP. Was like being abroad on such a lovely evening. It’s a wonderful park.

As far as I am concerned, it’s called White Hart Lane. β€˜Naming rights’ for an existing home have always seemed a very odd concept.

Popescu in the midfield 3 would possibly be an upgrade.

Rod Stewart: β€˜We’ve got to give Nigel Farage a chance’ The singer talks politics, potholes and having a policewoman wife as he prepares to play a β€˜noisy, sexy and energetic’ Glastonbury set on Sunday

We did. It's called Brexit. And it fucked up our entire country.

This is fun to watch if you’re of a spurs persuasion. Especially the last 5 mins of the game, and all the individual reactions to the stress of it all www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdjr...

I’m hopeful we’re now 2 years into that. The squad overhaul started when conte left and we’ve been mainly buying young players to build for the future. Plenty for Frank to work with, if he also gets to bring in 3 or 4 decent new ones too.

10.06.2025 12:37 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Absolutely. I was happy for him to stay but could totally see the other side of the argument, and am very much looking forward to seeing what someone else will do with the squad.

I've noticed a bit of this. There seems to be a willingness to totally ignore the terrible league form and end position. And also the fact that we only won games when specifically NOT playing Ange-ball. It's felt a bit cult-ish.

That willfully ignores 18 months of awful league form. At least be honest enough to recognise there’s another side to the argument.

Why Thomas Frank is exactly the right manager for Tottenham Spurs are interested in hiring the Dane after sacking Ange Postecoglou, and his track record at Brentford proves he deserves the chance

Also, it was ultimately the logical decision to change Postecoglou. Against clubs with far less resources, his compromised approach did not suggest a path to sustained progress in the PL. The trophy made it worth it though

All things considered, including how likely it was to have only delayed the inevitable by a couple of months if he’d stayed, it’s probably the right decision. Thanks for the memories Ange. Bilbao was fucking epic. #coys

Or maybe there is more than one English pundit, and that both views are widely held, and neither is entirely unreasonable.

06.06.2025 16:50 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I’d be happy to see him stay on, but there seems to be a collective failure to see the glaringly obvious other side of the argument.

03.06.2025 12:21 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Less than 40 points in a league season is a very compelling argument for change

03.06.2025 12:19 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I’m unsure if I’m in or out, but I think β€˜reaching 40 points’ and β€˜turning up to league games thinking we might have a chance of winning them’ might be reasonable expectations, and an improvement on this year.

02.06.2025 10:26 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I agree. I have a feeling the club will be more ruthless than most fans would have been. It’s possible that will save writing off next season in October, but it will also leave a massive β€˜what if…?’ & a huge stick for every pundit to beat him with whenever it once more looks to have gone wrong.
