I was mainly worried it'd sacrifice some of the visuals I've got planned, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

After doing some research, I'm thinking of giving Godot an honest shot. No matter how pretty UE4 is, if I can't make it to my work desk, there's no running it on a potato. Less of a headache for any devs or artists that come into the project later, too.

Update: I got about two weeks of work done and then lost one week of productivity to bad medication withdrawal. 😂 Lesson is, it's okay to still have ups and downs. Back on track today!

The Rivals Workshop community is just as warm and welcoming as the competitive community. Everyone puts so much love into their projects, and no wonder- it feels so different when you're in there making every detail. Support from other artists makes it worth all the tedium.

I want to extend that to the education community, because so many schools, some with limited resources, use Unity to teach game design to children. My day job is one of the libraries that do. And I would like our students to be properly paid if their work succeeds.

UpperEchelon on YouTube says this is abuse of the developer community. Those are strong words. I agree.

Yes, we're developing an indie game, but no, don't worry, we aren't using Unity. We're working in Unreal Engine 4. Epic Games is a separate can of worms, but I'm so upset for the entire industry right now. I hope the best for the developers who are affected, and I hope they sue.
