game audiences overvalue content so much. first of all there’s never ever enough your players will vacuum an entire elden ring in 3 days. but similarly if a game is suddenly boring and empty after you’ve played the new patch content once or twice that’s not a content problem lol

every time i watch a video where someone is complaining about their live game, doesn’t matter the game it’s all of them every time, the main complaints are updates take too long and when they do release they don’t have enough content. and i’m always like look i love ff11 that can’t possibly be true

as we continue to celebrate 40 years of Zelda i’d like to say that i sincerely love the existence of the official timeline. Nintendo got backed into a corner by forum nerds and said “oh you want a real timeline? here’s some shit that’s way more stupid than you expected”

also: the oizys fishing sequential was... way easier than the previous two planets lol, but it DID include a mechanic that i hope we see used with one of the Dawntrail legendaries: hidden lure fish being used to trigger intuition

truly the greatest struggle of being a longtime member of any niche community is retaining your patience as you have the same discussion for 8 years

i echo some of the fishcord's sentiment in that while Purse's downtime is a problem, the more annoying thing is how people are going to talk about it for years when aside from said downtime it is a very, very, very unremarkable fish, so the same conversation is gonna happen 12,000 times

The person is saying “Please.. help us..” Panel 4: Stella is now surrounded by several impoverished, emaciated men, all groaning things like “Help..” “We are the living dead..” “Save us..” “it’s the end..” etc

Panel 1: Stella holds a man who says “They CRUSHED me with child support payments.. I have nothing left..” Stella: What? No.. Panel 2: Three of the men are in frame. Man 1: I was more qualified with a job in Games Writing.. they STOLE it from me Man 2: They took all my money.. in a “Sexual harassment” suit.. Man 3: They made me pay the check for EVERY dinner date.. and then REFUSED to even KISS me Panel 3: Stella looks despondent. Stella: I don’t understand. These are GOOD men. Who could possibly treat them so terribly..? Panel 4: The men suddenly all look frightened, and start yelling “THEY COME!” In unison. Panel 5: Over the horizon, Stella sees a mass of what appear to be demonic looking women. It’s a mass of purple and pink, with demonic eyes and fangs and glowing “female” gender symbols on their chests. They’re cackling “KEKEKEKE.” The horrified men are all crawling away in fear.

The next two pages of Shawn Tuckley’s lost project, “Stella Starchild in: The Youniversal Truth.” These pages were made after an intense, constant backlash from Red Ring fans, who made their displeasure with Shawn’s new work very clear. Hard not to see some resentment from Shawn in these strips.

love when there's an article about how life is sustainable in the superheated waters surrounding a hydrothermal volcanic fissure on the ocean floor and then like six paragraphs in you find out the author's parents are chemosynthetic bacteria 🙄

almost a trope at this point but one of my favorite phenomena in gaming is people who played Ecco the Dolphin as kids realizing 15+ years later that they never beat the first level and that it's a game about defeating a cosmic horror that's trying to harvest all ocean life, starting with your family

the purpose of a rube goldberg machine is what it does eventually
