This is not a call for banning AI in classrooms, but until adequate methods of assessment can be developed which should tread carefully in this space…

New AI platforms bring into question our traditional methods of assessment given that 10minutes and a few searches can provide and undergraduate everything they need for success in many disciplines..

AI, GPT4 and the like offer the most incredible opportunity for learning, but so much of the role of education is as a societal signalling and accreditation service..

This highlights the problems with bringing AI and LLMs into the classroom..
