I've been watching love through a prism and it's made me want to start drawing again 🫠 still have so much reading for classes tomorrow though

also I'm onto book #2 of the year. wish I read physically so I could have an aesthetic spread but I have most books digitally so

lol one of the characters in the japanese book I'm reading just complained that they can never remember the english names. I like how this is a mutual experience between foreign language readers 🫢

otoh I'm still paying for a nintendo online subscription so maybe I should try to finish up FE4 and other games on the subscription during the weekend

it's sad but I think I have to leave video games for saturday only. I want to complete 10k of pages read in Japanese before December and I can't do it if I'm distracted by other forms of immersion. I'll never get to finish my Japanese to-read list if I don't lock in.

64% through this newest book. yeah, I think it was playing video games that slowed my progress. This leaves me torn because I was mining vocab from video games and not books, but at the same time I think books have more exposure to the language per minute.

Almost halfway through with my fourth book. This one is coming along slower I think. I wouldn't say I'm burned out but I have also been playing Etrian Odyssey 3 at the same time, which probably slowed my progress.

to finish a book a day lol

So I'm slightly more than halfway through 夜市. My progress might have to go down in the next few days since I wanted to read some Christmas books (in English!). So I was slightly frustrated about how I'm only 59% through the book, though I guess I could work more on focusing + realizing I'm not going

also got back my score for a test I was sure I failed (and thought the release delay was the professor going to ask the dean to give me a failing grade) and got a b+ so I believe in christmas miracles now

I'm going to try to restart my productivity today ✨ I'm already 23% through this newest book which has been way faster than other two

I wonder if I should do a mini-cleanse just to see. I think it would be kind of hard because I use my phone for literally everything

the difficulty for this book looks lower than my past 2 books. I'm hoping to vary difficulty levels so I don't get burned out

same tbh. part of it was because I was focusing on foreign language books but also a big part was scrolling reddit and other satanic apps. my goal for 2026 is less unproductive social media, less cable news, and more productive work

I passed the halfway point of 恋に至る病!! It's been about 20 days so far. I think it's a little faster than when I read my first book (I'm a slow reader haha).

I don't read that much Chinese fantasy. Is the prose in these books good?

I finished one episode of "The Greatest Teacher." I don't always understand everything, but I've been understanding more than I thought I would. I think I want to casually keep watching this—casually, meaning I'm not actively mining vocabulary from this the way I am planning w/ Psycho Pass

I think I have a long way to go, but I have a list of more than 200 books I would like to read in Japanese!

I'm still early in my Japanese reading journey but I wonder what new characters and stories I'll be exposed to. My goal for now is to read 50 books. I saw a post on Reddit where someone said they felt better about reading in Japanese after 50 books. I like how unattainable the goal seems now.

So far I've been enjoying 恋に至る病. I think it's a really weird book that I likely would have never had the chance to read if I hadn't started learning Japanese. The more literature I've seen in Japanese the more I've come to think of it as another world I was restricted from.

In addition, I have been starting different video games and shows but haven't gotten too deep into any. I already have been playing Fire Emblem Three Houses since the beginning of this year 2025 but am still on my first (Japanese) route, Black Eagles. I already played Blue Lions route in English.

I have not forgotten about this site, but I've been busy with school lately so my Japanese learning has been not as intense. I am about a third through 恋に至る病. I started reading it around the time I finished my first book so it has been little more than two weeks.
