Three Paths to Affordability for Local Governments Public officials can make the greatest difference when they focus on their communities’ housing, transportation and utility costs.

My administration has been working on affordability since before it was a buzzword. In fact, we're working on everything this article calls for - investing in affordable housing, rapid transit and safe streets, and working to keep utility bills affordable.

"Wisconsin schools would receive funding through increased income taxes on the state's wealthiest residents rather than property taxes."
The legislature should make this priority. They need to take the issue of property tax relief seriously & create a fair way to fund education and local government.

My other problematic take is to be white in this country is to expect comfort and when for whatever reason comfort is denied you , white people have been trained to eliminate the source of the discomfort rather than interrogate it.

I’ll keep pushing this line of analysis because I’m increasingly convinced the clearest path out of this mess is for Dems to adopt a relentless anti-corruption, anti-inequality, anti-oligarchy, pro-democracy platform. The Dem leadership hasn’t realized it yet, but they’re now a reform party.
