A recent heatwave in Central Asia was up to 10Β°C hotter compared to the preindustrial climate β a change described by one of our scientists as "frankly bonkers."
Our study also found an unusually rapid increase in March temperatures in the region. We've never seen anything like it before.

Heat Domes: How to Be Ready | Americares
Heat domes are a type of heat wave, where hot air becomes trapped over a region for an extended period of time.
Great blog post hereπ. Grey's anatomy had a heatdome episode. The portrayal and history of heat in culture is something I have been interested in for a while. It potentially shapes our understanding of the risk and interactions. I'd love to look into it more!
