If we were to visit either world, we would have a hard time breathing, among other problems, because at these temperatures even oxygen freezes to snow.

The most distant planet in our solar system experiences the strongest sustained winds - up to 1,300 miles per hour - over eight times faster than the winds of a Category 5 hurricane. Its largest moon, Triton, hosts the coldest known surface temperature: just 38 Kelvin (or -391°F).

In our night sky there is a dark band that runs through the Milky Way, known as the Great Rift. This darkness is where the stars of our galaxy are obscured by vast clouds of interstellar dust and geese … er, gas.

My last card for Magic: The Gathering's Edge of Eternities set has been posted. Filling this scene with all sorts of swirly, nebulous clouds was a great time.

Just to get back to the point where our ancestor was some kind of fish is roughly 185 million generations that had to survive and pass on their genes so that you could experience this world, with all its heartache, and its wonder.

These 7 octillion atoms are arrayed in astonishing complexity to create 500 trillion cells of numerous types, each with its own suite of exquisite molecular machines, precisely folded proteins, and ordered genetic code. It’s hard to comprehend how long it took for this intricate system to evolve.

...how intricately organized they are to facilitate life, and the oceans of time it took for evolution to shape them into that configuration. The average human body is comprised of more atoms than there are stars, not just in our galaxy, but in the visible universe.
