I remember a game called The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot. And it was a top down, build your own dungeon kind of game, but it was just a little bit too "mobile game", but I was really into the concept. I hope there's some fun challenge things in this you can put in to make it challenging & competitive

I love stuff like this. What reward and progression hooks are you aiming for? Or are they completely self contained? What is the build limit? Could someone, say, recreate all of Dark Souls in the editor if they tried? Or would they have to break it down level by level at best? Coop? Vs?

To be fair and to my own opinions, this is the way. Good characters and story come when the characters and story are believable. Unless something is a trait that defines a character (like Chester's opulence getting him in trouble) it does not need to be rubbed in the reader's face every page.
