I work in HR and had a coffee meeting with a job coach at one of our partner organizations the other day. The coffee shop was in an area with a high homeless population. The coach expressed concerns that many of his clients could end up on the streets, if the orgs no longer have the money to help.

Canadian, so we still have our Charter of Rights and a functioning Supreme Court, but it’s also Alberta where our premier is a MAGAT. She’s slashed funding to all disability groups. So, while it’s illegal to discriminate, they don’t have the funds to help clients find jobs or housing.

Unfortunately killing DEI will affect the the disabled community pretty hard (in addition to other minority populations). But the new oligarchy doesn’t care about them either..
