Tonight’s Blue Jays sip

Found on Reddit: β€œThe Sunflower”

Equal parts gin, Cointreau, St. Germain, and lemon juice.

Festive and alleviates extreme stress!

This thing where scholars dogpile an academic publication on the basis of press coverage was one of my least favorite aspects of academic Twitter. It’s very often fueled by territoriality, and it doesn’t even effectively defend the territory. Interdisciplinary diplomacy requires long form.

Have heard from two people in last 24 hours that Mark Carney has banned cabinet ministers from wearing brown shoes at work. Black only.

Surprised more outlets aren't on this one.

If CUPE 3912 wants better pay for their members, I would suggest that a simultaneous demand for lower tuition fees (nd hence lower institutional revenues) might be a *tad* counter-productive.

The Wayback Machine’s snapshots of news homepages plummet after a β€œbreakdown” in archiving projects Between May and October 2025, homepage snapshots fell by 87% across 100 news publications.

For the past few months, the Wayback Machine has been showing many fewer snapshots of news publishers' homepages than it used to. Something happened on May 16, but what?

Only bright side: it's October 18th and I'm sitting at a sunny picnic table outside my daughter's gymnastics class, grinding my inbox down to a single page.

Losses in the forestry sector from Trump tarriffs are lower than losses in the PSE sector from Marc Miller acting like a bull in a China shop. But which industry do the Liberals deem worthy of federal government support? Why the one that is closest to the 19th century, of course!
