This thing where scholars dogpile an academic publication on the basis of press coverage was one of my least favorite aspects of academic Twitter. Itβs very often fueled by territoriality, and it doesnβt even effectively defend the territory. Interdisciplinary diplomacy requires long form.

Surprised more outlets aren't on this one.
I made the mistake of saying my son could stay up through the 6th.

If CUPE 3912 wants better pay for their members, I would suggest that a simultaneous demand for lower tuition fees (nd hence lower institutional revenues) might be a *tad* counter-productive.

Happy Internet Archive Day to all who celebrate.
The Internet Archive is hitting its trillionth webpage archived, and - as a long time collaborator and historian of both web archiving more generally as well as the Internet Archive specifically - am happy to join them for this milestone.
