She was built at Kawkawlin Wood Products (a four-man shop with a working boss, Les Staudacher) in Kawkawlin, Michigan. (Les Staudacher was originally a builder of church pews and he got his start in unlimited hydroplane racing through his association with designer John Hacker.)
