I see the Royal Australian Navy is buying the Upgraded Mogami.
A hard pass on the OG downgraded Mogami, eh?

Standing 65 feet tall, each funnel rises the height of a six-story building, their sharply raked design conveying the record-breaking speed that once made the vessel the fastest ocean liner in the world.

Future feature length articles will also be subject to payment of UKยฃ4 or local currency equivalent. General blog entries are going to remain free, there are no plans for a subscription requirement, and the blog will remain advertisement-free as well, because I hate advertisement. What you get This is a ca. 5,00 word article in PDF format, covering the failed attempt by the Commonwealth forces to cut the retreat of Panzergruppe Afrika at Beda Fomm on 22/23 December 1941. A mix of command failures and a spirited performance by 15. Panzerdivision in reaction to the threat posed by BENCOL (see here and here) prevented this attempt by 13 Corps to destroy the retreating Axis forces before they could form a new, coherent line at Agedabia. The article is based on a mix of primary sources, and is the first detailed description of the action and the context thereof that is utilising sources from both sides that I am aware of. The article can be saved and printed, but you cannot copy text or pictures out of it without a password. Ownership rights are permanent but I would prefer for you not to transfer it. Pricing is based on the presumption that people play nice.
So. There will be a major change to the approach to rommelsriposte.com in the next few weeks. After about 17 years, and with the imminent publication of the first book, some content will become 'paid-for'. ๐งต
