This was a real funny one!

This was a real funny one!

10.06.2025 14:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Wild! We should stick to robots delivering food then.
25.05.2025 07:36 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Is there a way of supporting you besides buying the game?
21.05.2025 10:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ah, then nevermind ๐
15.05.2025 19:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Crazy. Good luck!
How about you recreate your shader bit by bit? And find out if it's something in your nodes?
WHAT DID YOU DO TO ROB??!?
10.05.2025 08:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Much simpler to understand! I'll try to give you syntax highlighting for `in` soonish ๐
09.05.2025 13:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yeah, I'm writing a parser, not an interpreter.
Main difference is that this JS parser is for use inside an IDE, so it keeps going even when there are errors and it tries to guess what the user wanted to do, so we can push out diagnostics.
Therefore, the parser allows syntax which is not 'correct'.
I had some time to work on a parser and I can now push out diagnostics to VSCode.
It will actually become interesting when looking at the scopes and accesses inside tables, but for that I have to write a small linter first.
Baby steps ๐ซ
Fine with me!

01.05.2025 19:01 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The part about creating a regex for unquoted strings that fits in nicely with the rest of the expressions turned out to be quite tricky. Haven't quite figured it out yet.
30.04.2025 12:12 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Hey Dave, I had some free time and have drafted a first VSCode extension (github.com/PythooonUser...) that adds syntax highlighting to tui.
Maybe it's helpful to you or others ๐ซ
A shame you will likely never implement something like the EU AI Act.
30.04.2025 07:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Is there a reason that you keep the language spec so open? Like new line vs comma, "string" vs string, [ vs }, : vs =, null vs nil etc.
29.04.2025 23:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Has it already affected you personally or professionally?
29.04.2025 11:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A small patch of Unity Terrain with a large forest on the left side and a branching river bed on the right side, blending into a moutain.
Very rough first block-out. I want to put all essential features and gameplay ideas into a small area to test things out.

Kids were sick, the terrain system I wrote wasn't good enough, scope with chunks too big. Lost motivation.
Today said to myself: screw it, use a small map, and Unity's Terrain System.
It's actually gotten pretty nice now and I immediately got my motivation back after being able to quickly do stuff ๐ฅน
Playing TLD while I wait for EA, I guess ๐ฅถ

08.03.2025 12:22 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0So do you work on a new trailer?
08.03.2025 12:07 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Still salvaging parts of my old code. I have to admit I came up with a solid architecture and the code is actually pretty slick ๐คท I thought after one year there would be more cringe ๐
07.03.2025 21:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well okay. It was one year ago. But still ๐

Almost one week without writing code? Nah! I figured I need better looking terrain (than just the flat plane) and I will need some kind of chunk system. So let's write one, why not. I mean, I already did that some months ago ๐จโ๐ป
#gamedev
Started working on simple forest assets, like these pine trees ๐ฒ Tweaked the shader a bit to get a nicer gradient.
#gamedev
Haha - shaders go BOOM ๐ฅProbably dividing by 0 somewhere.
Sadly, no progress today. No matter what I do, it all looks worse.
#gamedev
True! For that I'd need trees and a nice wind shader next.

03.03.2025 21:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks for the support! Yeah, it's still too early in development ๐
