Things that shouldn’t have happened, but did; I just made my debut with the #bbcsingers in a last minute serenade to music. They were welcoming, sympathetic and brilliant - such wonderful solos. My thank you gift to them is to never do it again!

But the star rating is anything but diplomatic as it doesn’t have any nuance. I’m not criticising the review, but neither your author, nor the performers rise above the initial blow. Just musing…

Time to ditch the stars? I read this and can’t believe that all the elements that drew such high praise could be negated. Seperate ratings, or recognition that they’re too simplistic. 🤷‍♂️

They are increasingly unable to release pertinent info because of changes to planning methods. Makes juggling with those who plan years ahead impossible. Still, now that a ‘season’ has fewer productions than a festival, it’s Hobson’s choice.
