Amazon have a bajillion dollars, but they still can't figure out sensible line length for body text. It's almost like they don't want us to read this.

I’ve automated it so now I don’t have to actively perform the task — I only have to fix it when the automation breaks, which only happens extremely regularly

I've never watched baseball in my life, but the Ohtani highlights from the weekend are unreal. Really special stuff.

Decided to pick up a Massive Attack record on my way back to Oxford, to show some love for bands quitting Spotify, but they'd sold out. I guess I'm not the only one who had that idea.

So rad to see @thebeths.bsky.social going from strength to strength. Last night's Roundhouse show was ace - Til My Heart Drops is an absolute peach, and I feel like even the chit-chat between songs has stepped up a notch.

Haven't you heard? Now you can buy a crossbody strap for your misery machine so that you don't have to reach all the way down to your pockets. Problem solved!

Gave Robot Dreams a rewatch this evening. What an absolute gem of a movie.

I love reading second hand books and seeing which random bits clicked with people enough to merit underlining.

One of my unexpected favourite things about going solo is that I'm writing way more plain CSS: no more bloated MUI or Quasar, just neat and simple components. Shoelace is neat. Open Props is delightful. Might also give Pico CSS a go?

Continuing on the path to RSS inbox zero. Current unreads: 7042.

Spent a big chunk of my day trying to figure out what the hell `exited with code 132: illegal instruction` meant. It turns out `pnpm upgrade -r rollup@latest` did the job, but yeeeesh. Sometimes JavaScript rocks, and sometimes it sucks.

Final tally for the day is 8284. Pretty chuffed with getting ~3000 articles done in an afternoon. Maybe I could RSS inbox zero by the end of September?

Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:

Our funding depends on usage.

So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.
