I've succumbed to the curse of walking into art supply stores. I have several nibs now

this time around i learned that it really does look better when you set your lineart to a monochrome layer. stops the halftone layer effect from getting weird with any antialiased edges

if im gonna try drawing ellipses like this i should probably start by stepping back down to just doing actual squares in perspective again. feels like 60% of my squares are more rectangular than anything. i lost my eye for even length edges

i updated my copy of csp recently and the ability to rotate the pivot of the free transform gizmo is such a nice feature... no longer will you need to straighten out an angled object to distort it properly... sooooo nice. i recommend getting version 5.0 for this

i wonder if file objects are static or if theyd play their anim frames while inside of another canvas, like a symbol/motion clip in flash... i dont do animation in csp cuz i only got the pro ver

personal use case i can think of off the top of my head: a canvas that has separate comic page files linked on it to be able to see them collectively (i dont have ex). when i was working on an 11 page comic a decade ago (oh my god..) i was doing that manually to keep track of progress. for morale

oh nice, clip studio paint has photoshop-style smart objects / file references. (so you can link a .clip canvas inside of another .clip canvas and it automatically updates) its called "file object" btw.

i dont use smart objects frequently, but on the rare occasions i did it was very handy

(doing the sketch -> lineart -> color process wasn't that bad! im not usually organized like that)
