Great example of real civic engagement. A registered Republican asks him a question and he clearly states his position and how it plans to address the issue. Citizens shouldn’t be afraid to come to their elected officials. Those officials should be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

This is a key point. Much of 20th/21st C. “innovation” has been a “pursuit of loneliness” (to borrow a phrase from P.Slater). From private cars to “home as castle”; cable, narrowcasting & all the ways the internet helps us avoid interaction. An atomized ppl are easier to sell to & easier to control.
