On Newton's ground, an apple
sprouted prisms, calculaus
and germs of gravity laws.
On Galileo's giant shoulders, Sir Isaac built.
Revere these physicists on their pedestals
but mind that Leonardo was the first genius.
The world's loss
... he had no issue.

Under crusty mottled war-paint
a core, tough and tender to chastise and cherish.

I have never heard of anyone being called the 'father of Australia'. In what context, was this label conferred and by whom? 🦘
