Their presence usually means some filth in area, because their larvae live in sludge based habitats like dirty toilet water etc. Their babies feed on bacteria. This one, suprisingly was in the open, outside of any building, usually I find them on camping sites inside toilets lol

Our climate cannot support bird hummingbirds so we often call this species "Polish hummingbird" I love them so much, but I rarely find them flying around

I managed to find Hummingbird hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum) "sleeping" on the wall when I was going to work in the morning. Love the little flickering rainbow colors that camera caught.
