Just here to follow a few accounts. Anon for work reasons.
J.K. Rowling has actually spent a large part of her fortune on charity work
30.09.2025 12:41 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks, I didn't realise that's how it's done now.
I remember the time when BBC programmes only stayed online for 7 days. Now we have the opposite situation.
'The Hammer of God', the first episode of Father Brown, was originally broadcast on this day in 1974. Kenneth More starred as G.K. Chesterton's clerical sleuth in a single series of thirteen episodes.
26.09.2025 14:02 β π 40 π 6 π¬ 0 π 0@BBC, why is the latest episode of The News Quiz not on the BBC app?

22.07.2025 09:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To listeners outside the UK, the geoblocking of the #bbcsounds app feels like the completion of brexit
21.07.2025 20:41 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Also, @BBC, please remove the @BBCSounds ad before every podcast. They just feel like a mockery to overseas listeners from now on.
21.07.2025 14:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Please google St. Joseph of Cupertino. He was the original air friar.
21.07.2025 11:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I really hate how the BBC hype the @BBCProms and then severely limit access to them for overseas listeners just 3 days in.
Also, the search function in the new BBC app seems awful.
I would love to pay for a subscription to @BBCSounds. It has brought me so much good content over the years.
As an overseas listener I would happily pay the UK license fee or a subscription if only they would let me.
19.07.2025 06:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What a lovely first night of the
@bbcproms. Sadly, the thought of what we are missing when we can't listen live makes the restriction of international access to the @BBCSounds app
at the start of the Proms season feel so cruel.
Yes, but only live without the option to rewind and listen again to most shows. It feels like we have gone back to square one in the early days of the internet when we had to listen to and record our favourite shows live at inconvenient times
18.07.2025 05:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I really hate living at a time when access to quality content can be removed by some techbro in an instant
17.07.2025 05:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I will miss @BBCRadio3 so much. It is much better than my own national classical radio channel π’
17.07.2025 05:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Back when I started listening as an English student, programmes only stayed on the BBC website for a week, and I planned my weeks around catching up with my favourite shows. Even a week was better than reducing access to streaming only.
17.07.2025 05:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As a BBC listener outside the UK, I am devastated due to the geoblocking of the BBC Sounds app. Dear @BBC, I have been listening for two decades now, and I would love to pay for on demand access to your programmes if that is what it takes.
17.07.2025 05:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It is such a clear violation of the commandment against taking the Lord's name in vain
22.06.2025 16:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was there, and I didn't notice any problems with the sound. I think it is just the recording
28.02.2025 16:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have done the same thing, and it is one of the best media decisions I have ever made.
26.02.2025 15:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't really understand your objections to how the GLAM sector works. Everyone can access archives and see the documents they need on request.
Also, institutions are required by law to keep certain records. Selling them would be irresponsible and illegal and not benefit the poor one bit.
Cool. But do you think the world is really improved by letting a few rich art collectors (who tend to buy artworks as investments and tax evasion) get all the benefit of art that would otherwise be on public display in churches, galleries, and public spaces?
I think people have a right to beauty.
And do you make the same demands of governments and other authorities who own artworks and fund the arts as well as having the responsibility to take care of the material needs of citizens, or why do you single out the Church in this case?
12.02.2025 17:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Church does lots of amazing work already. It also makes sure that its works of art are available for people to enjoy. Why do you think it would be better for the world if these works were sold to rich people who would just keep them to themselves?

10.02.2025 06:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That disgusting front page is so unfair to him, which you would know if you had ever read a word of what he actually wrote. He was really much more moderate than his reputation.
