22.07.2025 05:44 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm very pleased to announce that @cwts.nl and Dialogic will develop an Open Science monitoring framework and prototype dashboard for the Netherlands in the coming 2 years.
@opensciencenl.bsky.social has selected the consortium through a European tender (outlined OSNL 2024β2025 work programme).
Thanks for writing this. Open data helps me see if I should trust or care about a particular study. If full data are crap and the paper shows amazing things, if not enough data was collected. Without data papers are nothing but illustrated essays. I see great value in having access to it.
09.07.2025 16:30 β π 4 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Lots of interesting observations & ideas in this piece. βIf we can stop rewarding people for output and instead reward people for good process, as judged by their own arguments that process fulfills the sound scientific principles, then we can maybe evolve towards a better state.β

746 proposals for a total of 3M (about 13 will be funded).
If orgs spent 4000 in personnel time preparing their proposals on average, then this mechanism actually reduced funding for open science.
Open science is extremely underfunded.
New on the blog today, Marta Teperek and Hans de Jonge explain why NWO has decided to support Make Data Count through SCOSS, in alignment with their investment in promoting FAIR and open data.

Thanks so much for giving me and @hldejonge.bsky.social @opensciencenl.bsky.social to be interviewed :) We are so pleased that we could join @makedatacount.bsky.social and we look forward to working together on better recognising the value of research data π
27.05.2025 14:32 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And the good news is that this call for proposals is open to both researchers and professional support staff π #teamscience
27.05.2025 14:19 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But we fully agree with you about this. To support the global nature of research on open science, the Dutch Research Council has joined the Global Research Initiative on Open Science (GRIOS): www.nwo.nl/en/news/nwo-...
