the wire (season 5; 2008). insane arc to end the series, anymore it's wild to see a show end on purpose and have a climax for the full run. the theme is LIES, ends, means, justifications. was it worth it?? characters evolve to start someone else's cycle over. few get a satisfying conclusion. AUGH

the wire (season 4; 2006). this one is so emotional so i will focus on: the dynamic character arcs are sooooo good, i love when characters evolve in ways that would be unexpected from how they're first introduced but still feel very natural. + what if the drug dealers were 10 & white obama was there

the wire (season 3; 2004). everything is a game all the way up, you can't escape it, and if you try to change it they'll run you over. i love how willing the show was to end character arcs and not drag everything out, very satisfying. in 20 years we haven't gotten much farther on harm reduction huh

runaway jury (2003). not to be whatever but movies really used to make it worth your money/time to watch. this was fucking insane in a great way. what if a courtroom drama didn't really care about the court part and was a scam thriller. i love when everybody SUCKS but it did have heart at the end.

sinners (2025). forgot to post after watching this last week oops. really really fun, beautiful lighting, and the summoning dance scene took my breath away.

paddington in peru (2025). absolute cinema. beautiful visuals, well done cgi and set design, and you could tell they had fun making a movie specifically. it's also incredibly sweet and very funny. JUNGLE IS MASSIVE

canada's drag race season 3 (2022). excellent ratio of canadian media oddness to reality tv drama, and a great cast all around. adore the winner - more competitions should crown the sweetie pea contestant.
