We’ve been getting the baby’s room together the last few weeks. ✅ Fully painted. ✅ Furniture assembled. ✅ Closet system in. The only big thing left on the list… accent wall wallpaper… sometime… soon-ish.

Ordered a @prusa3d.com CORE One! So hyped for it to hopefully ship in a few weeks! 🤞

I guess I’ve just been in e-ink brain space for months now without even realizing it. One I haven’t mentioned yet that I’m so hyped for is @usetrmnl.com—excited to dive into making some fun little apps for it like I did with Tidbyt. Is 2025 the year of e-ink for me? 😅

Daylight | A More Caring Computer Daylight Computer (DC1) is a new kind of calm computer, designed for deep work and health.

I think there’s an interesting future in it! This is just a WiFi e-reader, no SIM—I’ve found Hisense has made some seemingly a-okay actual 5G e-ink phones I’d like to research more. I’m patiently waiting to see if daylightcomputer.com steps into the phone arena in a few years though.😅

Picked up a Boox Palma 2 this weekend. Hoping it helps cut down on screen time—pocketable, crisp, and relatively distraction-free. Setting it up with just the basics (even iMessage through BlueBubbles) to see if I can ditch my iPhone while I’m at home.

That is actually something I had worked on quite a while ago, but the Instagram Basic Display API was depreciated + it’s a little clunky with having to manually edit the link every time a post updates + no build system means no compiling environmental variables… so I shelved it. 🙈

FWIW I mostly wanted it to make some fun little apps and to have it as a backup watch for when an activity is not suited for my actual nice watches. I’ve somehow avoided the whole smartwatch daily drive thing all these years (even with a drawer full of them) and have just used an Oura ring.

Ordered the rePebble Core Duo 2 Tuesday. I’ve longed for the simplicity and battery life of my original Pebble—and would you look at that. I was debating between the Duo & Time but decided the smaller and black-and- white e-paper display is really what I wanted for a little more zen. 🧘‍♂️

I’ve been working more with Microsoft’s Figma UI kits the last few months and found working with their Segoe Fluent Icons font to be… uh, tedious? So I made a little Figma plugin to help with that. Check it out: fig.page/fluent

Spent the weekend booting up a little @ghost.org blog for project updates and random nonsense. I’ve never loved cluttering social feeds with that stuff, so now it’ll have a little home of its own. Ghost is awesome though, excited to dabble with it more.

Got to spend some time with @dndbeyond.com’s #ProjectSigil yesterday. The visuals are impressive, but it’s still lacking in a lot of other areas. I’m excited to see how they push further beyond aesthetics to enhance storytelling and DMing. They have a long road ahead to win the virtual tabletop.

This little Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Mayhem game is so simple and so fun. Highly recommend it for a small group if you just need a little card game that is quick and easy for everyone! amzn.to/40261le
