NYPLβs Library for the Performing Arts Acquires Archive of Wayne Shorter, Legendary Jazz Composer and Musician | The New York Public Library
Shorter, who died in 2023 at 89 years old, touched virtually every aspect of jazz.
It feels petty to share personal or professional achievements with the world in such crisis, but this is big so here it goes:
I am happy and proud to announce that the New York Public Library has acquired the archive of Wayne Shorter.

Newly Available: 'Metronome' Magazine Photographs Collection | The New York Public Library
Published from 1885 to 1961, Metronome magazine has as its backdrop some of the biggest changes in music-making.
Metronome magazine was a music magazine that was published from 1885-1961. The Music and Recorded Sound Division of the NYPL recently acquired the photo archives of Metronome, and there's a lot of interesting jazz photos to see.
