Also: my system had been dysregulated for so long, I literally had to “detox” from chaos because my nervous system depended on its regularity.

That’s a super fantastic place to be and learn to heal and regulate.

In my case, I learned over time that since I grew up in chaos/trauma/neglect - even when I was able to stabilize my life, it didn’t feel “right.”

So I ended up manufacturing chaos to compensate because I needed familiarity.
